For queries please send me an email, I’ll reply promptly. Alternatively, why not consider visiting Bhuj! If you love Madame Hall, chances are you love quality Indian handicrafts too! Bhuj is the thriving centre of the Kutch district, in Gujarat, India. It’s a small town, with a cosmopolitan atmosphere, due to the many different tribal communities that live in the Kutch area. Rabari, Ahir, Meghwal and Jat people make up a large part of the population. Still living a traditional life, the way they have done for centuries, they add to the rich cultural mix seen in the streets everyday, coming in from nearby villages to do their marketing. Bhuj’s lively Shroff Bazaar and vegetable markets are a wonderful introduction to the rich cultural heritage, still alive and well in Bhuj today. Shopping for gold and silver tribal jewellery, handicrafts and more, is a delight as you mingle with friendly villagers’ and local people doing their everyday business. The genuine and sincere nature of the welcoming Kutchi people is no more apparent than when you visit their villages. Often living in highly decorated round huts, you’ll be instantly made to feel at home by curious children and their exotically dressed family members as you admire the beautiful white mud work houses and see arts and crafts being made in their home. Natural wonders such as the huge, white salty expanse of The Great Rann with its breeding flamingo colonies is a ‘must see’ and surrounding areas with rare and endangered birds and wildlife, a haven for photographers and nature lovers alike. Kutch’s extreme temperatures during summer make the winter months from November to March the best time to visit. You can contact Madame Hall directly by filling out the form on this page.
